City of Grayling has established a public launch site for canoes and kayaks.
Location: 103 S James St Grayling, Mi – in front of the Sate Police Forensic Lab – James St is also known as 1-75 Business Loop
Caution
It is not recommended to use tubes on this section of river.
There are some sections between Grayling and Burtons where there is a minimal amount of current.
Canoes and kayaks you can paddle through these slow spots. Tubes will barely move – if at all.
If you put tubes in expect your trip to Burtons to take 5+ hours.

- Preferred access is from the far side of the building - behind the garages
- Restrooms are located across the Business Loop in the City Park
- Parking is limited at the access point and restricted in some areas
- There is additional public parking across the Business Loop in the City Park
